The 20-year-old, who has been likened to compatriot Roberto Carlos, is set to join the Italian club from Corinthians.
Dodo announced the move on his Twitter account.
“I'm going to Italy, to Roma ... now is the moment to prepare myself for the new season and give my best to make up for lost time," he said.
Dodo was once believed to be in line for a move to Manchester United but saw his hopes of a move to England evaporate due to a knee injury.
