Eighth and final lay day in Tahiti

Billabong Pro Tahiti organisers were forced to call another an eighth lay day with insufficient waves at Teahupo'o.

The event will recommence come what may on Sunday with just two days remaining of the competition window, but the forecast is promising.

“As expected, the swell has yet to fill in this morning and we’ve called competition off for the day,” said Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge.

“We anticipate a modest swell to fill in the afternoon and build throughout the night and into tomorrow while a stronger secondary swell begins hitting tomorrow afternoon and sets up a good finish."
