Elliott suffered the injury in a training ground incident in February and the 27-year-old has been working hard to ensure he is ready to take part in the club's preparations for the 2012/13 campaign.
"Marvin has made real progress over the past three weeks and we are delighted that he will be able to join in with pre-season as we targeted," City boss Derek McInnes told the Bristol Evening Post. "Clearly, we will have to go careful and not push anything too soon but all the signs are that Marvin's recovery is on schedule.
"I've been in constant contact with the medical team, including (new head physio) Michael McBride, who has now started with us, and they are happy with him.
"It was a significant injury and a terrible one for him at the time. Marvin is not the kind of player who enjoys spending time in rehabilitation and gym while his team-mates are out there on the pitch.
"But he's put in the hard yards throughout close season to ensure he's right and that seems to have paid off. He's been doing his running with no pain or setbacks and we're delighted for Marvin."
