The best riders in the world, some with several horses, have convened in the French capital for nine classes of a CSI5* under the towering vaults of the famous Beaux-Arts exhibition hall.
Dutchman Gerco Schroder and Swiss Olympic champion Steve Guerdat - world numbers two and three respectively - top the bill, with Australian Edwina Tops-Alexander, Brazilian Rodrigo Pessoa, Spaniard Sergio Alvarez Moya, the Beerbaums, Luciana Diniz of Portugal, and Sweden's Rolf-Goran Bengtsson also expected to compete for honours.
A strong French contingent will carry home hopes and Kevin Staut, Roger-Yves Bost, Pénélope Leprévost, Patrice Delaveau, Simon Delestre, Philippe Rozier and Michel Robert will all hope to give the Parisian crowd something to shout about.
The Grand Palais will also hold three Talents Hermès classes at 145, reserved for the 20 young riders who have been fostered by the CSI5* riders.
As well as the prestigious international competition on offer, spectators will have the chance to attend a new show every day by the Cadre Noir of Saumur in collaboration with the Elastonautes.
