Equestrianism - Ehning wins Olympia Grand Prix

Germany's Marcus Ehning claimed victory at the Olympia Grand Prix with Sabrina in London.

Like Marc Houtzager a day earlier, Ehning has to fend off the Brits to claim victory, after four home riders qualified for the jump-off.

Michael and Robert Whitaker, Tina Fletcher and Laura Renwick were joined by Ehning and just four others - out of a field of 30 - in the finale.

But it was world number three Ehning who came out on top, ahead of Edwina Tops-Alexander and Penelope Leprévost.

Ehning set an exceptional time of 37:99 with Sabrina, while Tops-Alexander managed 40:89 atop Ego van Orti to take second.

Janika Sprunger from Switzerland on Uptown Boy finished the course without penalty in 41:67 to claim third.

British fans were left disappointed after Michael Whitaker with Viking came in fifth as the best British rider.
