    Fans in Manchester await NBA Olympians

    Two friendly matches between the USA and Team GB’s basketball teams will give fans a rare chance to see the likes of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant in Manchester.

    A warm-up fixture for the USA and Team GB men’s Basketball teams in Manchester on Thursday 19th July will give fans the opportunity to see some of the most talented stars of the NBA strutting their stuff, before the serious business commences in London next week.

    Tickets from as little as £25 are still available for the match via Ticketmaster and the match will also be live on BBC Three television from 7pm-9.30pm. The Team GB Women v USA Women will face up on Wednesday night in a match which will also be broadcast live on the BBC.

    The likes of Chris Paul (Los Angeles Clippers), Deron Williams (Brooklyn Nets), Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers), LeBron James (Miami Heat) and Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks), who all remain part of the squad that achieved gold at the 2008 Olympics, are all likely to play a part in the friendly match against Great Britain at the Manchester Arena on Thursday evening.

    The USA squad also features players such as Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder), James Harden (Oklahoma City Thunder), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Anthony Davis (New Orleans Hornets), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Tyson Chandler (New York Knicks).

    The GB team, meanwhile, includes NBA star Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls, alongside such talents as Pops Mensah-Bonsu who currently plays for Besiktas in Turkey and US based College of Charleston youngster Andrew Lawrence who is tipped to pick up an NBA contract soon.
