    Ferguson dismisses Wolves speculation

Darren Ferguson insists his focus is entirely on making Peterborough competitive in the npower Championship again next season amid speculation linking him with the Wolves job.

Ferguson rarely comments on speculation but he has dismissed suggestions that he is in the running to be the next full-time boss at Molineux as "only rumours".

Instead, Ferguson has already started preparations for next season and is finalising his retained list ahead of letting the players know their futures next week.

"I have a job to do here and that's where my focus is. I had several meetings with the chairman last week about next season and we know what we want to do," Ferguson told the Evening Telegraph.

"I'll tell the players who I want to retain next week and in my own mind I know what type of player I want here next season.

"I need a bigger squad both physically and numerically. We have been found out a bit in recent weeks, in fact opposition managers have been telling me they are well aware we are on our last legs and prepare accordingly."
