Castleford's new chief executive Steve Ferres has vowed to turn around the Tigers' fortunes after a season of under-achievement.
The Tigers are languishing in 12th place in Super League with just six wins from their 23 games so far and have missed out on the play-offs for a third successive season. Castleford suffered a record 70-12 Super League defeat at Hull KR earlier this year and Ferres described Sunday's 40-12 home defeat by arch rivals Wakefield as "humiliating".
"These performances are not becoming of a Castleford team and are not acceptable," he said.
In a message to supporters Ferres, who has been in the post for just over a month, called for patience but promised that "open and honest communication with the fans will improve".
He added: "Times are tough for all in the present economic climate.
"It is fair to say as a club we are way behind in every department of our business.
"As a custodian of the club, I am determined to rebuild but it will take a monumental effort from all concerned to change our fortunes.
"It needs all of us - the board of directors, staff, fans - to harness our passion and belief to bring the class back into Cas."
