    Fleming lands Palace role

Crystal Palace have appointed Curtis Fleming as the club's new first-team coach.

Former Middlesbrough and Palace defender Fleming, 43, steps up from his position of development coach.

"Curtis has already become a big asset for this club and I'm delighted to have him move into this new role," manager Dougie Freedman told the club's official website.

"He has already racked up a wealth of coaching experience and I've no doubt he will be a fantastic appointment for the club."

Fleming made 49 appearances for Palace as a player from 2001-2004 and played in the same side as Freedman.

Jamie Fullarton will fill the role of development coach at Selhurst Park after leaving his post as youth-team coach at Bristol Rovers.
