Football - Clarets worry over Marney

Dean Marney is Burnley's only remaining injury worry for the east Lancashire derby clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche saw Ross Wallace return from a spell on the sidelines to start Monday night's 1-0 defeat to Hull, alongside defensive duo Ben Mee and Michael Duff and all three players came through unscathed.

Such news paints a rosy selection picture when compared to the injury crisis that presently engulfs rivals Rovers.

But former Hull midfielder Marney is once again laid low with the calf complaint that has kept him out of action so far this month.

Burnley will pursue their first win over Blackburn for 34 years - a run spanning nine matches - having won only once in the past nine npower Championship matches.
