Dempsey earned a £6million move to Spurs after finding the net for Fulham 23 times last season, but he has only scored 12 times since his move to White Hart Lane.
The 30-year-old has developed a knack of scoring goals at the right time, however. He pulled Tottenham back in to their crucial game against Stoke on Sunday before setting Emmanuel Adebayor up for the winner.
The Texan also bagged decisive strikes against Manchester United (twice) and Basle, plus he also has six Barclays Premier League assists to his name.
"Hopefully I will get my goal tally up before the end of the season because I haven't scored as many as I did last season, but I'm glad I have chipped in with some important goals," Dempsey said.
"You always like to get assists so I have been happy to get quite a few of those this year too."
Dempsey's man-of-the-match performance meant Tottenham moved back in to the top four, but they will be leapfrogged by Arsenal if they beat Wigan.
