The npower League One club named MacDonald as Paolo Di Canio's successor on Thursday night with Tommy Miller and Darren Ward having taken charge of the club's last two games.
And MacDonald will be able to call on Simon Ferry and Joe Devera at the Ricoh Arena.
Former Celtic midfielder Ferry missed the shock 1-0 defeat to Bury on Tuesday with an ankle injury, while left-back Devera did not feature during February having picked up a hamstring injury.
Miles Storey and Troy Archibald-Henville remain sidelined but there are no fresh injury worries after the midweek loss.
