Houston was full of praise for the 29-year-old, whose performance between the posts defied Saints and stopped his side from suffering defeat at the hands of their Tayside rivals in the Boxing Day clash.
And Houston, who brought Cierzniak to Scotland during the summer to replace the departed Dusan Pernis, was always confident his new number one would cut it in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
He said: "Rado was very good again. I can't praise him highly enough.
"We didn't know that much about him before he came here but I always felt he was good enough to do well for us.
"Thankfully that's how things have worked out and I'm just really pleased for him as he works ever so hard."
