Following the announcement of an extended stay for the trio, the club revealed that they have been handed new job titles with former manager Skiverton now the assistant manager while Way will be the first-team coach.
And Johnson explained just how important his two lieutenants are to the success his side have enjoyed.
"They are massive and I wouldn't do it without them," he told Press Association Sport. "They are stalwarts of the club and have been here for many years and they are two very good coaches.
"You have friends that you trust don't you? Team-mates you can rely on and it is the same with my management team.
"There is a trust there. But they have their own ideas as well and I let them have their say. They come up with great ideas and it has been great for me to work with two enthusiastic and knowledgeable people.
"You could see the passion when they were choked up at the end of the game (the play-off final). We threw our arms around each other right at the death, we knew the work that had gone into it."
