Rovers were without a game last weekend owing to MK Dons' involvement in the FA Cup and Saturday's fixture at Gigg Lane will be the first time they have played since January 19.
New boss Brian Flynn, who will have a full squad available against the Shakers, kept his players ticking over with a friendly against a Manchester United reserve XI at the beginning of this week.
Woods made his return from the thigh injury that has kept him out since November against a strong United team at the Premier League club's Carrington training ground to add to the competition for places in midfield.
Meanwhile, strikers Billy Paynter and Iain Hume will also come back into the reckoning.
Paynter is available again after serving a three-match suspension while Hume missed out last time against Leyton Orient because of a calf strain.
