Former Manchester United star Park was announced as the R's skipper at the start of the season but has been missing with a knee injury in recent weeks.
Park returned to the starting line-up for the first time under Redknapp for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie with West Brom but defender Clint Hill kept the captain's armband.
"It's the manager's decision and I'm very happy to go along with that," the ex-South Korea captain said.
"I respect the manager's decision and I don't really care about that - I am an experienced player so I can help the team with or without the armband. It doesn't matter."
The 1-1 draw against West Brom was Park's first start in two and a half months but he his hoping to have his match-fitness back very soon.
"It was the first game for me. Chelsea was only five minutes so this is my first game back from injury," he said.
"The 90 minutes will help me and it won't take long. In a few days and a couple of games I can be 100 per cent."
