Football - Shrews hoping to avoid Gayle blow

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner will assess the fitness of Cameron Gayle ahead of the visit of Carlisle.

The on-loan West Brom defender has been sidelined with a groin injury but is expected to be in contention for a place in the team as the Shrews look to climb out of the relegation zone.

Winger Mark Wright is sidelined with a knee ligament injury which forced him off during the 1-1 draw with Crawley last weekend.

Paul Parry was his replacement during the game and is expected to be handed a start as Turner's side search for a first win in four matches.

But the club are unbeaten in their last three home matches and welcome a Carlisle side who have won just one of their last seven league fixtures.
