City head for St James' Park in the Capital One Cup fourth round on Wednesday evening before Chelsea follow them in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday in a tough double-header for Alan Pardew's men.
However, Tiote, who has captained the team in the last two games with Fabricio Coloccini injured, has urged his team-mates to show their mettle once again to bounce back from Sunday's 2-1 reverse at the Stadium of Light.
Asked about Wednesday's date with Manuel Pellegrini's side, the Ivory Coast international said: "It's going to be also a tough game, but we need to be ready for that because it's not going to be and easy game.
"After that, we have got Chelsea at home, so they are two big, tough games for us, but that's football.
"We are Newcastle, so we need to do everything right and try to win the next game."
