The 28-year-old, who was at Molineux with Town boss Mick McCarthy, pens a two-year deal at Portman Road after leaving the midlands club earlier this summer.
"I'm delighted to have signed Christophe. It's a fantastic signing," McCarthy told the club's official website.
"He helped get us promoted at Wolves and helped keep us in the Premier League for two seasons and I'm amazed actually that it's gone so long and he hasn't got a club.
"It's terrific for us."
