Alfie Potter struck the only goal of the game shortly before half-time as the U's won 1-0 at Victoria Road for the fourth season in succession.
After watching Potter's 10th goal of the campaign seal a very welcome first win in six games, Wilder said: "This is a great result for us and as you can tell I'm really delighted.
"We were good value. I felt we were on top for the majority of the game and we defended resolutely.
"This game is about creating chances and tucking them away, and in the end we've done enough.
"It can be a tricky stage of the season for teams in our position, but credit to all of the lads, they're still giving it everything and they've repaid the faith shown by our fans. I can't praise my players highly enough.
"We're not done yet, though. There's still another couple of games to go and we certainly won't be stepping off the gas at all.
"There's still too much at stake. I'll demand that the players continue to give in excess of 100%. They know that.
"If we can finish the season off on a real high that would suit me."
