Football - Wilson returns to Cobblers

Northampton's teenage striker Lewis Wilson has returned to Sixfields following the end of his spell on loan spell at Kettering.

Wilson joined the Cobblers' non-league neighbours towards the end of November and scored seven goals for the Evostik Southern Premier side.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd told the club's official website: "Lewis has done very well at Kettering and he's proved that he can score goals.

"He comes back into the fold but he won't be starting for us, unfortunately, as although we are not short of quality at the minute we are a bit short in terms of numbers.

"Ideally, I would like Lewis to be playing regularly but at the moment we need him here and it is up to him now to prove when he does get the opportunity that he is capable of scoring goals at league level."
