Nottingham Forest have signed Norwich defender Daniel Ayala on a season-long loan.
Ayala, a Spain Under-21 international, becomes the npower Championship club's sixth new signing of the summer.
Forest chairman Omar Al Hasawi told the club's official website: "It is pleasing to have signed a player with such a wonderful pedigree. He's only 21 but has experienced life in the Premier League, as well as in the Championship, and adds to the defensive resources at (manager) Sean O'Driscoll's disposal."
Ayala came through the youth set-up at Spanish side Sevilla but in 2007 rejected a professional contract and joined Liverpool instead.
He made five Premier League appearances for the Merseysiders and produced a string of eye-catching displays in extended loan spells at Hull and Derby.
Ayala joined Norwich last summer in a deal reported to be in the region of £800,000 as the Canaries prepared for life back in the top flight. A serious knee injury restricted his progress but he made 10 league and cup appearances for the Norfolk side.
