In Melbourne last weekend, the FIA opted to disable the telemetry link between race control and the cars because of reliability problems with the system.
It had been hoped that the issues would be sorted out for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, but ongoing problems have forced the governing body to step in again.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, the FIA confirmed that the telemetry was again being turned off, which means no cockpit warning lights, no automatic blue flag messages, no automatic disabling of DRS and no automatic engagement of Safety Car Mode.
AUTOSPORT understands that the FIA changed the supplier of the telemetry link for this year, which explains why the previously reliable system has hit trouble.
