Haga wants to close gap on return

Noriyuki Haga is looking to bounce back after his collarbone injury in this weekend's British Superbike Championship round at Donington Park.

Swan Yamaha's Haga is currently in eighth position in the standings with 113 points, six behind Padgett’s Honda’s Ian Lowry, after a broken collarbone sustained in free practice left him sidelined at Cadwell Park.

But the Japanese is optimistic about his chances.

He said: “The recovery is going well and I get better every day. Still I have some pain, but of course I come back for Donington to make a good fight to get back to a top six position. I'll give my 200% to Donington.”

“The crash was a shame and I was very disappointment because I lost two races and lost my championship position and went from sixth to eighth.”

Haga has raced well in the past on the Leicestershire circuit, picking up a podium finish and WSB race wins and he continued: “I like the track and I have good memory that I have won WSB races there. I will put everything on my full experience and try very hard.”
