The blue silks of Godolphin, Sheikh Al Maktoum’s stables, were everywhere at Dubai’s Meydan Racecourse.
Paul Hanagan – who replaced Godolphin’s top rider, Silvestre de Sousa – won on Shuruq, coming in ahead of Kieren Fallon on Lovely Pass and Mickael Barzalona (third) on Music Chart, trained by Al Zarooni.
The French jockey had also got himself noticed earlier in the day by winning the World Mastercard Handicap with Kassiano and then the Meydan Classic with Now Spun.
