On March 9, Jakkalberry caught the public’s attention by winning the Dubai City of Gold, with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
But the first signs of concern soon obscured that victory and it was later confirmed he is injured.
“Unfortunately, he had a setback after the race, which is disappointing. It’s frustrating for the owners but he wouldn’t be able to run,” said Marco Botti, his trainer.
Jakkalberry will instead return home to Newmarket, so as not to compromise a season that had started so well.
