Hot Football Transfer Gossip: PSG ‘want Liverpool’s Henderson’

No one’s got more money than Paris Saint-Germain. Not even Prince Charles or Dr Dre. That’s why they always win the French league, and why they do stuff like buying David Luiz for £50m, or making £120m swoops for Ronaldo. Because presumably it’s fun, just buying stuff. Like when Michael Jackson went into that shop in that Martin Bashir documentary and started spending millions of dollars on weird furniture he didn’t really need. And the snazzy item that has taken PSG’s fancy today, according to the Mirror, is Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson. Unlikely as it sounds, the filthy rich Parisians are being tipped to make a January bid for the England midfielder, who is currently nursing a broken foot.

The tabloid adds that Henderson’s arrival in gay Paris could pave the way for Blaise Matuidi to move to Chelsea, who are also being linked by the Mail with Man Utd outcast Victor Valdes. English football’s most decorated reserve player could be signed by the Blues on an emergency loan, but that might sound a bit too much like fun for Louis van Gaal, who seems determined to make the Spanish goalkeeper’s life as uninteresting as possible.

A couple of Hot Football Transfer Gossip favourites are also being dredged up today. Karim Benzema apparently “flirted” with Arsene Wenger over a possible summer move to Arsenal, according to Spanish media. Sadly for Arsene, it sounds like they mean the kind of attention-seeking flirting when someone has no intention of leaving their regular partner, as opposed to a precursor to love-making.

Meanwhile, Neymar has “categorically” considered a move to Manchester United, reports the Daily Express. But then he has probably considered lots of things and not done them, like making a Sunday roast for his girlfriend or getting rid of that silly haircut.

Another hot young Brazilian who may be a more realistic option for United is Alisson, a 22-year-old Cruzeiro forward who apparently said that “Manchester United are really great” and that he “would like to play for them”, according to Goal. Whether Allison himself is really great, we actually have no idea.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich’s Rafinha has revealed that some English clubs tried to sign him, with the Mirror claiming that one of them was Arsenal. And Man Utd legend Nemanja Vidic, who is out of favour at Inter Milan, may be the latest illustrious has-been heading to the USA, where DC United are apparently offering him an “escape route”.
