The incident occurred at 13:28 of the second period. Gryba was assessed a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct. Eller has been released from the hospital after being treated for a concussion and facial fractures sustained from the hit.
San Jose Sharks winger Martin Havlat has been ruled out of Friday's Game 2 Western Conference quarterfinal against the Vancouver Canucks.
Havlat, 32, appeared to be injured on a spear from Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa midway through the first period of Game 1.
