David Stockdale has been recalled from his loan spell at Ipswich by parent club Fulham after goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer was ruled out for up to six weeks with a spinal injury.
Schwarzer sustained the injury during Saturday's 2-0 Premier League defeat at Swansea and saw a specialist consultant on Tuesday night. The Australia international has now been diagnosed with a compression injury to his thoracic spine and will be unavailable for between four and six weeks.
As a result, Stockdale - who has been named in recent England squads as back-up to Joe Hart - has seen his season-long loan at Portman Road cut short. The goalkeeper has started 18 of Town's 20 Championship matches this season.
Arran Lee-Barrett is set to take over in goal for Saturday's home clash against Derby with Richard Wright (shoulder) still struggling.
