Gus Poyet opted to give the DVD of Nottingham Forest's previous game a miss ahead of Brighton's trip to the City Ground.
Forest gave their survival hopes a massive shot in the arm with a stunning 7-3 win at Leeds on Tuesday night.
But Seagulls boss Poyet said: "I'm not going to look at the game because it's not normal."
He continued: "It was a very good result but I'm not going to get anything from it because they were playing away, so it's not the way they play normally at home.
"We know their strengths and they might be more confident because of the game on Tuesday night, but we need to go and play our own game."
