After two indifferent seasons on loan in Serie A with Roma and Milan, the 22-year-old has been returned to Barca this summer, ahead of an expected permanent departure from the Camp Nou.
Reports this week in Mundo Deportivo suggest that the youngster has no shortage of admirers and that Atleti and Malaga have both inquired with Barcelona after his services.
Atleti’s interest, though, is thought to hinge on him being an alternative option in the market should negotiations with Sevilla for Alvaro Negredo break down.
Alberto Gilardino’s agent has dismissed claims that he has held talks with Villarreal over a possible move this summer.
A report in Il Secolo XIX suggested that the 30-year-old’s representative Beppe Bozzo had already held talks with the newly promoted Primera Division side over a possible move out to La Liga this summer.
However, he has denied doing so on behalf of his client who is currently with the Italian national team at the Confederations Cup.
“There has been no contact at all with them,” Bozzo declared to Sport Italia today.
“At this moment in time I can deny all of those stories.
“Gilardino’s future has yet to be defined.”
Inter are believed in negotiations with the club that hold his registration, Genoa, over a deal, with Bologna, who loaned him last season, said to be refusing to pay the Grifone’s asked price.
Real Madrid are reportedly in competition with a number of clubs for the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Paulinho.
The Corinthians man has previously been paired with Chelsea and Inter in recent months and most recently has been seen as the subject of talks for Tottenham Hotspur.
It is also reported that Spurs have placed an offer of €17.4m to try and pick up the midfielder, who is currently on international duty with Brazil at the Confederations Cup.
However, The Times report that Carlo Ancelotti is also keen to look at Paulinho, for his Madrid side, and has requested that Los Merengues take a look at entering the bidding too.
