Relegated from the Primera Division last season, the Aragonese outfit were in talks with Manolo Jimenez to negotiate his departure from the bench.
On from confirming that resolution earlier this week, the club have now reported that former Celta Vigo coach Herrera has been brought in as his replacement.
Herrera successfully navigated Celta out of the Segunda Division in 2011-12, but was sacked by the Balaidos outfit in February with the club 18th in La Liga.
Zaragoza is the 59-year-old former Liverpool assistant manager’s 11th different club of his coaching career.
