Somerset have taken Lancashire bowler Sajid Mahmood on loan until the end of the season.
The former England paceman has not played a first-team match for the Red Rose since June 14's Friends Life t20 clash with Derbyshire and has been allowed to make the short-term switch to Taunton.
Lancashire cricket director Mike Watkinson said: "At this stage of the season, Saj needs to be playing cricket week in, week out and due to injuries and international call-ups, Somerset are a bit thin on the ground in terms of fast bowling. Therefore, it's a win-win situation for all parties."
Mahmood will go straight into Somerset's squad for tomorrow's LV= County Championship game against Sussex, with Gemaal Hussain and Alfonso Thomas both injury doubts.
