Rudd was named coach of the year at the British Swimming Coaches Association Awards Dinner courtesy of a remarkable past 12 months capped by Meilutyte's performance at London 2012.
Having arrived in the UK three years ago and enrolled at Plymouth College, the 15-year-old came from nowhere to set a new European record and world leading time in the 100m breaststroke.
She beat world champion Rebecca Soni by eight hundredths of a second to win gold.
However that isn't Rudd's only success story as he helped Plymouth Leander win the Arena National League title for the fourth time in five years.
