    Miller to miss Soelden GS

Bode Miller will miss the opening World Cup race of the season in Soelden this month.

The American has not recovered from a knee operation in March in time for the giant slalom on the Austrian glacier.

"Soelden is not an option for Miller, he has yet to train a single giant slalom," Head’s race director Rainer Salzgeber told the Austria Press Agency.

The 34-year-old two-time overall World Cup winner and winner of 33 World Cup races plans to return to action at Lake Louise in late November.
