The 31-year old became Great Britain's first female world bobsleigh champion when she swept to gold with brakewoman Gillian Cooke in Lake Placid last February.
But her hopes of adding Olympic gold in Vancouver were dealt a blow when she was diagnosed with retinitis after complaints of blurry vision in December.
Having lost 80 per cent of her sight in her eye, Minichiello underwent two laser surgery operations with a third operation scheduled for Friday.
But after consultation the Brit has been informed she no longer needs the procedure and has been given the all-clear to compete in Vancouver.
The Winter Olympics in Vancouver start on February 12 with the women's bobsleigh on February 23 and 24.
