York have completed the signing of teenage midfielder John McReady from Darlington.
McReady has signed a two-year deal with the Minstermen, who secured promotion to the Football League via the play-offs in May.
The 19-year-old appeared in 37 league games for Darlington last season, scoring two goals, one of them an impressive strike in a 2-2 draw against York at Bootham Cresent.
McReady is the Minstermen's third summer signing following the arrival of midfielder Lee Bullock and striker Oli Johnson, released by Bradford and Oxford respectively.
