NFL-National Football League roundup

Nov 28 (The Sports Xchange) - New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is expected to miss Sunday night's game in Denver against the Broncos because of a knee injury. Amendola, who injured his left knee in Monday night's 20-13 win over the Buffalo Bills, has been limited in practice all week. He was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. Amendola did not travel with the Patriots to Denver on Saturday, according to reports. - - The Seattle Seahawks activated cornerback Jeremy Lane from the physically unable to perform list. Lane recently returned to practice for the first time since suffering a broken arm and torn ACL in the Super Bowl in February. He had multiple surgeries on his arm and knee, causing him to miss the start of the 2015 season. - - The Minnesota Vikings ruled out safety Harrison Smith for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a knee injury. Smith suffered a left knee injury in last Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers when he collided with Vikings cornerback Terence Newman in the first quarter. - - The Miami Dolphins added wide receiver Rishard Matthews to their injury report with an illness. Matthews is questionable to play Sunday's game at the New York Jets. - - The Chicago Bears waived long snapper Thomas Gafford and replaced him by signing Patrick Scales. Gafford was replaced after playing all 11 games this season. He signed a one-year, $870,000 base-salary contract that also included an $80,000 signing bonus. Scales has played with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers since entering the NFL in 2011. - - Arizona Cardinals strong safety Deone Bucannon was fined $23,152 for a hit on a defenseless receiver in last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Bucannon hit wide receiver A.J. Green on a pass over the middle, but was not flagged on the play. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
