Stuart Broad and Andre Adams finished with three wickets apiece as Nottinghamshire wrapped up a comprehensive 185-run victory in their LV= County Championship Division One clash against Lancashire at Old Trafford.
The Red Rose closed on 39 for five on Friday, with a victory target of 328 all but forgotten, and although their lower order put up some resistance, the defending champions were all out for 142.
Broad and Adams claimed the scalps of Tom Smith and Gareth Cross respectively and Samit Patel picked up the final two wickets shortly before lunch to render Luke Procter's unbeaten 41 meaningless.
Alan Richardson took two wickets in as many balls although Joe Denly's unbeaten half-century helped steady Middlesex's ship against Worcestershire on day three of their clash at Lord's.
After Chris Rogers was caught behind off David Lucas for nine, Richardson removed Dawid Malan for a duck and then bowled Neil Dexter off the very next ball as the hosts slipped from 166 for two to 172 for five.
But Denly remained calm in amongst the mini-collapse and his 65 not out has guided Middlesex to 191 for five.
