The Munster fly-half leads a team containing several members of Ulster's Heineken Cup final team. Paddy Wallace and Darren Cave form the midfield pairing, with wing Craig Gilroy also starting, while the Ulster contingent up-front includes lock Dan Tuohy and flanker Chris Henry.
There are also opportunities for Keith Earls at full-back, with his Munster colleague Simon Zebo featuring on the left wing. The front-row is comprised of three uncapped players - Connacht prop Brett Wilkinson, Munster hooker Mike Sherry and Ulster tighthead Declan Fitzpatrick.
Ireland head coach Declan Kidney is set to finalise his 29-man squad after the Barbarians fixture for next month's tour of New Zealand.
Ireland will face the world champion All Blacks in Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton between June 9 and 23.
