    O'Sullivan warned, fined for no-shows

Ronnie O'Sullivan has received a formal warning as to his future conduct after the WPBSA found that he did not have sufficient grounds to withdraw from eight tournaments in 2010.

He was found in breach of rule 1.3 of the members rules and regulations, which states: "A Member must play in a Tournament in which he is entered."

However the disciplinary committee of the world governing body found him not guilty of failing to provide a reasonable excuse in pulling out of one tournament in 2011 and two in 2012.

In 2010 contracts to appear in tournaments did not exist, while O'Sullivan had already paid fines for failing to show to the later tournaments - which were governed by contracts.

A fine of £1,000, suspended for the remainder of the 2012/13 season, was issued while he was told to pay £1,000 towards the costs of the hearings.

O'Sullivan recently announced his return to the tour after taking a break from the sport following his World Championship triumph at the Crucible in May.
