Osvaldo given two-match ban

Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo has been suspended for two matches for his red card during the 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina on Wednesday.

The Argentine-born Italy striker, 26, was dismissed late in the match after swearing at the referee and applauding the fourth official following his red card.

Osvaldo has scored 11 goals in 25 Serie A matches this season and will miss games against Napoli and Chievo.

Roma, who are seventh in Serie A with four matches left, are already without Erik Lamela, who is one game into a three-match ban for spitting at Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner during the Bianconeri’s 4-0 win last weekend.

Another midfielder, Italy international Daniele De Rossi, was given a one-match ban for accumulating a fifth yellow card.
