Leicester have cancelled the contract of John Pantsil by mutual agreement.
The 30-year-old defender joined the Foxes last summer on a three-year deal having left Fulham at the end of his stay at Craven Cottage.
But he has managed just five starts and two substitute appearances in total, the last of which came in mid-October.
A statement on Leicester's official website read: "John's departure will see him become a free agent and he leaves City with the best wishes of everyone at the football club."
