Rain prevents any play at Queen's

The opening day at ATP Queen's Club was completely washed out as a result of persistent rain.

The 2012 tournament was due to begin at 11:30 BST with Go Soeda vs Bjorn Phau, but unrelenting rain in London stopped a single shot from being played.

The downpour began last night and continued throughout the day.

Four Britons had been due to play on the opening day, with Liam Broady set to meet 14th seed Gilles Muller on court one, last year's semi-finalist James Ward up against Kevin Anderson of South Africa on centre court and Jamie Baker and Oliver Golding to go head-to-head.

Ward-Anderson has been pushed back 24 hours, with a dubious forecast for Tuesday.

As a result of the day being washed out, Andy Murray's opener against either Guillermo Garcia-Lopez or Nicolas Mahut looks set to be pushed back a day to Wednesday.
