Nottingham Forest manager Sean O'Driscoll believes he has assembled a squad capable of flourishing in the npower Championship this season.
O'Driscoll made striker Billy Sharp and midfielder James Coppinger his 10th and 11th signings on transfer deadline day, with both players coming off the bench for their Reds debuts the following day as Forest maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign with a 2-1 victory over Charlton at the City Ground.
O'Driscoll, who hinted that his work in the transfer market is done for now, is delighted with the quality of players he has been allowed to bring into the club during a remarkably busy summer.
"I think that is it. We have made signings because we have had to. It has not been a scatter-gun approach. We have only done what we had to," said O'Driscoll following the weekend win.
"We have not spent £4million or £5million on players people have never heard of. We have tried to bring in good characters - people who know the division.
"The acquisitions we have made have already shown they are good characters in the short time they have been here. Hopefully they will continue to do so during the course of the season."
