Ref shows good humour after being sandwiched

Referees are often accused of lacking a sense of humour but Lee Probert certainly won some friends during Wigan's clash with Fulham at the weekend.

After just 15 minutes of the match, Probert found himself the filling in a 'ginger sandwich' as he got in the way of both Ben Watson and Steve Sidwell as they dived in for the ball.

Both players crashed into the South Gloucestershire referee leaving him hurt and in need of treatment.

However, even while rolling around on the ground, he still found time to brandish a fake red card to Watson for the challenge.

The video of the incident should autoplay in the picture box above for UK web users.

Fulham went on to win the match 2-1.
