Derby defender Chris Riggott has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Riggott began his career with the Rams and rejoined the club on a one-year deal based on appearances in August after recovering from a series of injuries.
However, Achilles tendon, calf and back problems have hindered the 31-year-old during his second stint at Derby and he has not featured for the first team despite a handful of reserve-team outings.
Derby-born Riggott came through the youth system at his hometown club. He made his debut in May 2000 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Rams before joining Middlesbrough in 2003.
After a brief spell on loan at Stoke and a short stint with Cardiff last season, Riggott rejoined Derby in the summer.
His contract will be terminated on January 1, 2012.
