Rover sign former Kiwi prop Tuimavave

Hull KR have signed former New Zealand Test prop Evarn Tuimavave.

The Newcastle Knights player will link up again with former Knights assistant coach Craig Sandercock at Craven Park on a two-year contract from 2013. The Auckland-born prop has found his chances limited at the Knights since the arrival of Wayne Bennett as coach and has made just three NRL appearances this year.

"This year just hasn't gone the way I'd have liked it to but everything happens for a reason," Tuimavave told his club's website. "I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life over in England and I thank everyone at the Knights for my time here."

Tuimavave, who made his NRL debut for New Zealand Warriors in 2002 before joining Newcastle two years ago, will play out the season with the Knights before moving to England.

Newcastle chief executive Matt Gidley said: "We would like to pass on our thanks to Evarn for his contribution to the Newcastle Knights during his three years at the club. Evarn leaves our club with our best wishes for the future."
