Serie A - Cagliari and Catania play out dire draw

In a dire match which included just three attempts on goal - all for the home side – a point was the most that either team deserved.

The teams were greeted on to the field by 13,000 spectators as the Is Arenas stadium was opened, with a restricted capacity, for the first time this season.

But the contest did not befit the occasion as Cagliari – who at least attempted to attack – were thwarted in their attempts to snatch all three points from the match.
