At first the Rossoblu were interested in Niang, but have over the last couple of days turned their focus more towards youth team player Boateng.
“It’s true that Boateng could be an interesting objective for the squad, even if he is a little ‘greener’ than Niang,” director of sport Daniele Delli Carri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Genoa director also spoke about their other transfer targets for this summer.
“Gonzalo Bueno is expensive, as co-ownership is valued at €3.5m (£3m). In these conditions, it is impossible to buy him.”
